COURSE OVERVIEW
The HNC Acting and Performance course focuses primarily on the practical and theoretical skills of a modern performer through classes and workshops, which including acting, voice, movement, devising theatre, acting for camera, text and performance and methods and practitioners.
HNC units/classes studied…
Acting 1: Developing acting skills using Stanislavski method.
Movement 1: Developing physical skills using your body as actor and storyteller
Vocal Techniques 1: Developing your voice as an actor and storyteller
Production 1: Performing in fully staged play to public audiences
Creating Devised Theatre: Developing your skills in devising and performance
Acting for Camera: A distinct form of acting that differs from stage acting in several ways. While both involve delivering dialogue and conveying action, screen acting requires a focus on subtlety, naturalistic styles, and the ability to convey emotions through natural facial expression and body language
Graded Unit 1: Requires the student to gather and display all the practical and theoretical skills learned, through a performance of monologues, scenes and movement.

2-Year HND in Musical Theatre
3-Year BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre
Level 6 1-year BA (Hons) Top-Up Degree in Musical Theatre (for learners holding a suitable Level 5 qualification or equivalent)
Our next audition will take place on Friday, 14 August 2026 and may be one of the final audition opportunities for September 2026 entry.
Auditions are free of charge.
